Brian is 25 years old and lives in Huddersfield where he works as a Sales Rep. He is single (and available – his words not mine). He throws 24 gram Alan Glazier ton machine darts.
Both of Brian’s parents played darts as well as his uncle (Dave Crossland) who played for Yorkshire, so there was always a dartboard up at home when he was growing up. He started playing in the Holme Valley league at the age of 14 but was banned after a while due to players not liking being beaten by a 14 year old. He got his Yorkshire call up in 2004 and got into the ‘A’ last season.
He say’s the high points in darts for him is every county game he plays and especially his ‘A’ team debut.
His low point in darts came on the last game of last season when as final player in the Lancashire match he lost which meant that Yorkshire lost the accumulative table.
His ambition is to keep playing ‘A’ team darts and see what happens, he would like to play for England and play in the World Championship.
When asked for a personal comment about darts he said he loves to play darts and county and to be with the people involved in the game as they are like a second family.
My comments on Brian are that although I have only known him a couple of years, I find him a very polite likable lad and talented player who has many years of darts ahead of him and therefore lots of opportunity to achieve his ambition if remains dedicated to the sport.
