Wayne Holland

Wayne is 37 years old and lives in Huddersfield where he works as a painter and decorator.  He is married to Ruth and has 2 children, Thomas and Rebecca.
Wayne who is currently an ‘A’ team player, throws a 23 gram dart. He started playing at the age of 13. He joined Yorkshire youth at the age of 15 so has represented his county for the last 22 years and has had 120 senior games to date. As well as playing county he plays in local league and superleague, but only does local competitions. His high point in darts came when got into the ‘A’ team. His low point was when he was dropped to squad for a whole season in 2001. His ambition is to play for England and to go on playing county for as long as possible.
When I asked for a personal comment on darts he said “I wish that darts governing bodies could work together so that there was no effect on the players enabling Pro’s and Amateurs to play side by side should they so wish”
My comment on Wayne is that he is typically ‘one of the lads’ with a good sense of humour who could achieve his ambition if he really put his mind to it.
