John Haigh

John is 57 years old, single and lives in Huddersfield where he works as a van driver. He currently plays Super league, local league and county. He does not do the competition circuit because he say’s it takes too long in between games and he gets bored and ends up drunk. He started playing darts at the age of 33 when he used to go into the pub after football and they asked him to play. His high point was 15 years ago when he won the CIU individuals, then getting his Yorkshire call-up. As for low point, he says that he has never had one other than the disappointment that he feels if he loses. When I asked him for a personal comment on darts he said that he is quite happy with everything that goes on and has no personal gripes.
My comments on John are that he is a very quite laidback person who does not let anything get to him and takes everything in his stride. He is quite happy just to plod along at his own pace and go with the flow, but behind that laidback exterior is a very talented player.
