With the advent of televised competitive sport more people now realise that this is a game for anyone from teenagers to octogenarians.
Whether it is for social companionship or competitive reasons what could be better than getting out into the open air on a summer’s afternoon or evening in a beautiful rural setting (go to pictures for views).
Although the ladies section do play a few games against other clubs, we are totally focussed on equal opportunities and play the vast majority of our games as mixed triples. This allows couples to join and participate as part of the team (although not necessarily playing on the same rink) so eliminating the aspect of “bowls widows or widowers”.
