1856 - 1905  during this period items were stamped with the following marks:
    1.  Standard mark "Sekka'' (c. 900/1000)
    2.   mark of guarantee "Sahha''
    3.  "Khales'' mark giving the date. 
1878 - 1905  Introduction of the assayers mark (a star), stamped on the item when put on sale. 
1860  new marks were introduced on 25 July; permitted purity of 900 and 800/1000. These marks were valid until 1942.
