1834  Obligatory hallmarking was introduced in the former Kingdom of Serbia for items manufactured of precious metals. 
1882  The law of 17 July introduced a new system of hallmarking on the territory of the former Kingdom of Serbia with the establishment of provincial control offices. Permitted purities were 800 and 750/1000. 
1919  With the emergence of present-day Yugoslavia new hallmarks were introduced, valid for the entire country. Permitted Purities are 900, 800 and 750t1000. 
1933  New hallmarks were introduced along with new purity standards of 950, 900 and 800/1000.
