The original Haughfoot Lodge is
unique in Scottish Masonic History (Founded 1702)
Considered to be the World's
first Lodge of Speculative Masons and although The Grand Lodge of Scotland was
founded in 1736 the Haughfoot Lodge remained independent during it's existence
from 1702 - 1763
Our objectives are:
-
To promote Freemasonry to the general
public.
-
To preserve the Masonic history of the Province of Roxburgh, Peebles
and Selkirk Shires.
-
To perform demonstrations of Masonic ceremonies similar to those as
would have been worked in the early 18th century
