Stop Korean Torture!
Because this goes beyond a human's right of culture..

"Of all the creatures, man is the most detestable.
Of the entire brood, he is the one who possesses malice.
He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong, proves his moral inferiority to any creature that can not."

Mark Twain

SPAY/NEUTER

Every year animal shelters are overflowing with unwanted cats. Why could that be?
Well, one good reason might be the fact that one single cat can be responsible for as many as 20 000 descendants in just five years!!! Its own babies, its babies babies, its babies babies babies, and so on, and so on, and so on........
Cats reach sexual maturity very early, (some as early as six months!) and can then come into heat a few times a year. Of course it is sweet to raise a litter of kittens in your home, but all these kittens need to find humans to look after them for the rest of their lives. Moggies have been dealt the worst set of cards, because many people fall in love with a kitten, but once it has grown to be a cat they are not interested anymore. Most mongrel kittens change hands for nearly next to nothing, and that way they do not even have the protection of someone having had to spend a considerable amount of money for them. Therefore everybody should think twice before having babies that might not find permanent homes! In neutering/spaying the cat, a lot of suffering can be avoided.
Additionally, any unneutered/unspayed cat that roams free is in great danger from catching diseases like
FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
or FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus).
These diseases can be deadly!!!
No cat should be subjected to them unnecessarily!!!

To have a cat spayed or neutered does not cost all that much.
Once a cat is ill it will cost a fortune!!!
Responsible breeders have their cats tested before they let them go to stud, and their cats will not roam free. 'Helping kittens into this world' is by far not as easy as some may think, and it is definitely not a business you get rich from. As much fun as it is raising these little fur babies - once you have to part with them each and everyone will take a piece of your heart with them.. Good breeders carry heavy burdens, and when they ask you to neuter or spay your cat they do so - not because they want to protect their business interests -but because they know how important it is to keep the breeding of kittens under tight regulation. Anybody who truly wishes to breed pedigree cats has to register with the relevant organization of their country and obey its rules. Moggies are unfortunately not protected by any of these rules, nor are any other laws in place which could force people to neuter or spay their cats. It is up to the individual to drive their cat to the vet and to do the right thing - by their own cat - and its uncountable descendents if left to breed uncontrolled..

Declawing

The declawing of cats is not allowed
in England, but unfortunately not every country has such tight laws. In the USA, for example, the declawing of cats is practiced widely, even tough many animal rights groups are speaking out vigorously against this cruel torment. As British breeders we might not be directly affected by this terrible issue, but we still feel the need to make every potential cat 'mum' or 'dad' aware of this great injustice, so that you can add your voice to the fight against declawing, too.
Declawing means the cats get their claws removed in an operation which will render the cat not only unable to defend itself, but will also stop it from being able to climb or jump properly and be generally what nature intended it to be - a cat. Anybody worried about their beautiful living room suite being torn to bits is best advised to get a scratch post or better still -
do not get a cat at all!
Every cat has a born right to sharpen its claws, to scratch when upset and to jump and climb to its hearts content. Taking all of this away from our beautiful companions is cruel and selfish! Do not let it happen to your cat, your neighbour's cat or anybody else's cat.

FIGHT DECLAWING WHERE EVER IT RAISES ITS UGLY HEAD!!!

The cats of this world will thank you for it.

REHOMING

Nobody can truly predict what the future will bring and even the most loving and caring cat moms or dads might find themselves facing a situation where they can no longer provide a home for their beloved cat(s). What ever the reasons for such a situation might be, it is important to choose the right course of action, meaning that a new suitable home for the cat(s) involved must be found. Most responsible breeders will be more than happy to take cats back that have been born in their house, some will even insist on this! Many pedigree breed clubs run their own rehoming service, which is another good way of insuring that cats in need will be placed with suitable new families.
Pedigree cats do not belong into Animal Shelters if there is any chance of avoiding it! Not because pedigree cats are better - all cats are equal - but because they take away the space needed for the poor neglected alley cats, which need homes just as desperate. A pedigree cat can always be rehomed through the breeder or the relevant breed club!
If you should ever find yourself in a situation where you have to give up on your beautiful 'moggie', please get in contact with your local shelter or an organization that deals in the rehoming of mongrel cats. Never just leave your cat behind when you are moving away or even abandon it at the side of a road. Cats need food and a warm place to sleep, they need regular health checks and vaccinations to protect them from diseases.
Most certainly do not part with your moggie because you now have the money to buy yourself a real 'elegant' cat! Pedigree cats are not a statement of wealth or standing in life. They just look different and some breeds can display rather unique character attributes, that is all. We do not breed Orientals or Devons because we think they are better cats, but because we treasure their extreme outgoing natures. We have got a moggie ourselves and he is as much loved and cherished as our other cats are.
ALL CATS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!

Cats and Wildife

First of all it is important to realize that cats are part of the wildlife. A cat left to its own devices will do what comes natural to it - it will hunt! But when nature created cat it could not have had well fed, pampered and vaccinated kitties in mind. Nature has its own way of regulating numbers. Cats in the wild are under threat from various diseases or other predators, and all in all a very demanding and tough way of life. Our cats do not have to worry about their food anymore, it is provided for them. When a cat is ill it will be taken to a vet, and most natural predators have been eliminated. Cats have become the pet of choice for many busy humans, because they are generally classed as independent and easy to keep. Many of these cats are left to roam free and are causing great damage to the bird population and other wildlife. Birds are especially vulnerable during nesting and when their young spread wings for the first time. We cat lovers can turn and twist it as much as we like, but nature never intended for millions of pampered cats to be out there hunting what ever is unlucky enough to cross their path. This is not the cat's fault, it is ours! Hungry or not, a cat is a creature of strong instinct. Most cats will chase after anything that moves - and do you know whether the butterfly your cat has just chewed up was not a rare one?
Of course, cats are not the reason why this planet is in so much peril. Humans are quite capable of destroying nature all on their own. But as responsible cat owners (or slaves!), we do have an obligation to not add to the existing problems. Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to suddenly change a cat's habit. If it has always been allowed out, it is difficult to lock it in. We have got one ourselves who has to be let out every now and then or he will go absolutely mad. But if you are looking for a new kitten to add to your family, please consider to keep it in right from the start. A cat that was never out will not miss what it does not know. As long as you provide plenty of play and love and do not mind when it climbs your shelves, your kitten will be fine. It might be against its nature to not be out there doing its thing, but then again - the way our modern cats live is not natural anyway, is it..?
A cat kept indoors will not upset your neighbours!
Remember your neighbours have rights, too, and your cat digging up their flower beds might does not bother you, but them an awful lot..
A cat kept indoors will not kill other wildlife!
All these creatures out there are struggling enough already with numbers dwindling due to pollution and the use of pesticides..
A cat kept indoors is a much safer cat!
You will never have to scrape the bleeding remains of your cat of the road. You will probably save in vet bills and defleaing treatments. And who knows - your neighbour might even bake you a cake!

Stop Korean Torture

Because I am not an expert on this subject, I would rather like to refer you to someone who is. Please take the time to visit the link below by clicking on the banner provided. The pain endured by those poor cats and dogs - first tortured in the cruelest ways imaginable and then slaughtered - has to be stopped.
Every voice counts!
Do not turn away!
Do not abandon the ones that can not speak for themselves...

"We did not weave the web of life;
we are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
What is man without the beasts?
If all the beasts were gone, Men would die of great loneliness of spirit.
For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man.
All things connect."
~ Chief Seattle
