Catering Arrangements

General Comments

The ticket option you choose will include the relevant meal or refreshments. In theory we won't be able to change these after September 4th : in practice I believe the Catering Manager is building in some leeway but we shouldn't depend on that.

You'll hopefully be able to buy additional drinks at appropriate points during the afternoon sessions, with your meal and again during the evening interval. I guess no-one's going to want to be serving during either of Pete's two sets!

I've assumed that everyone attending the afternoon sessions will have had the chance to grab some lunch before arriving at the venue for the one o'clock start. If you think you might want some sandwiches waiting for you, we may be able to help if you e-mail to let us know.

Afternoon Tea

I thought this would be a suitably-civilised thing to have at around three o'clock!

We have been quoted a price of £1.70 per head (based on 150 people) which includes tea/coffee/soft drink plus homemade flapjacks and shortbread.

Supper

Afternoon events are scheduled to end at five-thirty, with meal service beginning quarter-of-an-hour later. The menu looks like this:

Vegetable Curry (100% vegetarian)

French Bread & Butter

Black Forest Gâteau
Alternative Gâteau
Fruits of the Forest Cheesecake

Tea/Coffee/Soft Drinks

The price quoted is £5 per head (based on 150 people)

(The venue will provide some service staff but we may be asked to help a little to make sure everything is cleared away in time so that the concert is not backed by crashing crockery. Any volunteers?)

Supper will end around six forty-five, with Pete's first set starting at seven fifteen.

Interval Drinks

Your ticket for the evening concert will include a drink: wine, beer or cider for adults; soft drink for children. If you have adults in your party who don't want an alcoholic drink (and don't want to pay for one!) do e-mail Andy/Leslie and we'll work something out.

We are proposing to lay in supplies of the following : if, for example, you're a red-wine-only person and you normally know the choice made as Chateau Chunder, do please let us know and we'll change the order to accommodate your preference (so long as it's economically viable!). Same goes for any other drinks in this list:

White Wine
Vitasur Sauvignon Blanc, 1999. "A typically-styled Chilean Sauvignon with pungently-attractive aromas of gooseberry and rhubarb". [Cost of 'extra' glass = £1.00]

Red Wine
Cono Sur Merlot, 1999. "This intense ruby red Merlot offers concentrated plum, blackberry and currant flavours with a touch of oakiness". [Cost of 'extra' glass = £1.00]

Bitter Beer Young's Special and Shepherd Neame Master Brew. [both 500ml bottle, both £1.40 as 'extras']

Lager Stella Artois Dry. [275ml bottle, £0.80 as 'extra']

Cider Symonds Scrumpy Jack [250ml bottle, £0.85 as 'extra'

Soft Drinks Orange Juice [glass, £0.40]; Coca Cola or Sprite [330ml can, £0.50]; Strathmore Mineral Water (still) [glass, £0.20].

We're aiming to serve in glass glasses rather than plastic 'glasses' if we possibly can. More info. as we get it.

We'll be doing what we can to obviate the 'theatre bar' syndrome where you get your elbows on woodwork just as the bell calls you back to the auditorium!

You'll have twenty to twenty-five minutes to grab and guzzle and/or to visit the souvenir stall!

Post-Concert Reception

There will be a Reception at the Quality Hotel (see Accommodation page later in the site tour) after the concert. There will be coffee and light refreshments (sandwiches, savouries, crisps and nuts) available in addition to a selection of wines, chilled lager and cider. The charge of £3.50 for the refreshments is already included in your ticket price, if you've chosen a relevant option: you'll have to buy your own booze as required!
