| Welcome
To
the home of the 2600/2000 International Register. A club for members
who own or are interested in the Alfa Romeo 102 & 106 Series,
otherwise known as the 2000/2600.
In many respects
the 2000/2600 range was the last of the Alfa range based on quality
rather than outright performance, owing much of their design ethics
more to the 1900 and earlier 6C 2500 ranges rather than the more
mass produced 750, 101 & 105 ranges of the time. This is what
adds a certain amount of charm and intrigue to these cars and probably
why there are so few examples are still around.
It is with this
in mind that we try to provide a focal point for owners, providing
help and assistance where we can in all aspects of ownership.
This includes
sourcing cars and parts through our classified sections and help
on some of the technical challanges that all of us as owners face.
We are also
keen to champion these models and try and increase other owners
awareness by getting them out and about as much as possible.
Latest
Update
Despite many
promises to keep this web-site update, I have once again failed
due to a number of unforeseen circumstance. No excuses I have just
been busy with lots of non 2600 stuff.
What's
New ?
Well
despite the weather in the early part of what we call summer there
have been a number of events which 2600 owners have managed to get
their cars out at. The Giulietta AGM once again in the Cotswolds,
National Alfa Day at Weston Park and the AROC Cotswolds section
event at Upton Park have all been graced with the presence of the
odd 2600. Eric Harrison has put together a couple of reports on
these events and these can be seen in the events section of this
site.
Other news is
that at last there seems to be some movement the desirability of
2600s. I have had numerous requests from non-owners who are looking
out for good cars primarily Spiders but some who are looking for
Sprints. If you have such a car and are interested in selling please
contact me via E Mail and I will put you on to the interested parties.
Related to this
increased interest the prices seem to be starting to move. Recently
2 LHD Spiders made over £25,000 in european auctions. Given
both were LHD which do seem to be more in demand than the RHD versions
and hence sell at premium. If this carries on my long suffering
restoration may break even, although I doubt it
Club
2600/200 International - AGM
So far we have
had 3 attempts to arrange this AGM and for a number of reasons this
has always ended up in failure. Must try harder!
We do plan to
have an AGM in the near future so please keep an eye on this web-page
or if you are club members on your post.
