Welcome to the 'Woodpightel' flock of pedigree Ryeland sheep. The flock is named after our cottage in North Yorkshire.
We have kept this delightful breed of sheep since 1992 and would thoroughly recommend them to smallholders and anyone else who wants sheep with very placid temperaments.
There are now sufficient numbers of Ryeland sheep in the U.K. for it no longer to be a rare or minority breed here but it is a rare breed in other countries. Ryeland sheep are kept in England, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand.
