This symbol of a fish has been associated with Christianity for the best part of two millennia. It is made up of five Greek letters which make up the word Eekthees which translates into English as the word Fish.
Each of the letters in this rebus represents a special meaning to the born-again Christian: The first represents the name Jesus which in Greek is pronounced Iesous. The second letter stands for Christos, which is the Greek form of the Jewish word Messiah, which translates into English as Annointed One. The third letter represents the Greek word Theou, which translates as God or of God. The fourth letter stands for Uios and translates as Son. The last letter represents the Greek word Sooteer - meaning Saviour. The full meaning of the the entire Greek word translates therefore, as Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour. The Greek version is as follows:

Born-again Christians, like myself, believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God - indeed he IS God and was with God in the beginning. Through Him everything was made (even stone circles). God sent Jesus (in human form) to be a sacrifice, for our sins, for everyone who has existed, is existing and will exist - because EVERYONE sins, and sins separate us from God. Unless we do something about our individual sinfulness then when we die that separation will become complete and we will be cut off from Gods loving and sustaining presence for eternity - the so-called hell.
The GOOD NEWS is that if we simply acknowledge our individual sinfulness to God and ask him for his forgiveness he WILL forgive us - no matter what we've done - i.e. 100% forgiveness! God does this because he loves us - you, me, everybody - no one is exempt from his love.
AND, (and this is a big AND) having forgiven us completely, he will give us his Holy Spirit who will stay with us always and help us make a fresh start in life as a child of God.
So, if this makes sense to you and you would like to know REAL forgiveness, REAL joy, REAL peace, REAL love and happiness, why not ask Jesus into your life now? A simple, sincere prayer is all that it takes!
