Topcat on Feedback
Leaving Feedback
From 15th May 2008 sellers will no longer
be able to leave negative or neutral feedback
Seller will no longer be able to leave retaliatory feedback or
defend themselves
Please bare in mind when leaving feedback that your sellers
livelihood may depend on the feedback you leave so due care and thought should be
applied before leaving negatives or neutrals

Seller Nonperformance
This will be calculated on a rolling 30 day period
Neutral feedback no longer count toward the score
1 negative and neutral for low volume sellers or more than 5% buyer
dissatisfaction will leave you with a possible suspension
Currently sellers are given a month to try and resolve with the
buyer and get the feedback rating withdrawn.
They cannot buy or sell during that period
If buyer dissatisfaction does not improve over that month permanent
suspension may apply
The SNP programme considers negs, neutrals, DSRs and disputes in
determining whether sellers are restricted

Star Ratings
This is where you can rate individual aspects of a transaction.
the ratings are based on average and rounded to the nearest 0.5%
The new star ratings are voluntary and you can leave feedback as
previous without having to do the additional ratings
It allows you to take into account account excessive postage and
packing
However before giving a poor rating please take into account the
fact that shipping is not just the price of a stamp it includes postage packing and all
the things involved in getting the item safely to you
see here
http://freespace.virgin.net/ac.responder/topcatonshipping.htm
Please also take into account that sellers are not responsible for
delays caused by the shipping company used and holidays and season delays in deliveries
These are things outside the control of the seller
Where sellers have DSRs below 4.6 PayPal may hold the money for 21
days or until the buyer leave positive feedback

When Should I leave Feedback
Feedback is the last thing you do when the transaction is complete
not just somebody paid on time so it is recommended that the buyer leaves feedback first
or lets the seller know that they received the item and are happy
This gives parties a chance to iron out any problems should they
occur
If the seller leaves feedback on receipt of payment and something
goes wrong at a later stage its too late to change things
All sorts of unforeseen problems can occur sometimes the
fault of the seller sometimes the buyer sometimes just minor misunderstandings sometimes
more serious
But whatever both parties should try to sort and then leave
feedback at the very end when nothing else can be done to resolve

My Buyer Did Not Pay. Can They neg Me
Negative or neutral ratings will be removed if a seller opens an
Unpaid Item claim and the buyer either doesnt respond or doesnt specifically
say the seller is at fault.
If they did reply to the dispute they can neg you

What about Mutual Feedback Removal
Feedback revision as it is now called was brought back November
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/feedback/revision-request.html
The criteria has been changed
You can send a limited number of Feedback revision requests per
calendar year. For every 1,000 Feedback scores you receive in a year (positive + neutral +
negative) youre eligible to send 5 Feedback revision requests.
You can request a Feedback revision only after youve resolved
a problem with the transaction or if you think the buyer accidentally left you wrong
Feedback.
Communicate with the buyer and clearly explain the reason you want
the feedback revised.
You can request only one Feedback revision per transaction.
Feedback you received more than 30 days ago does not qualify for
revision.
Feedback left by currently suspended users do not qualify for
revision.
You should report
any buyer who demands goods or services not offered in your listing in exchange for
Feedback.

What feedback should I leave
That is something you must decide for yourself but it should
be honest and clear
Always keep to the point. Stand back and do it calmly not when you
are totally infuriated with the whole scene
Bare in mind that you only have 80 letters so use to the best
advantage . No profanities or name calling that Ebay may remove
If you go to Ebay China you have 120 letters to use

My Trading Partner Hasn't Left Me Feedback What Can I
Do
Do nothing. All feedback in voluntary and you should not ask for it
Some people do not leave feedback some leave monthly even
longer so you may receive it anytime up to 90 days
It has been known for a member who asked his trading partner for
feedback to receive a negative and a comment like heres the feedback you asked for. This
isn't what you want but it happens so be warned

Feedback Extortion
when your trading partner threatens a neg if you don't do what he
wants
Feedback extortion is if a buyer tries to make you ship additional
items as part of the deal
It is not feedback extortion if a seller demands payment by a certain date or they will
leave you negative feedback
Nor if the item isn't shipped within a certain amount of time
you need to provide emails and headers

Feedback Solicitation
This is offering to sell or trade feedback and can be reported here
top of page
Feedback Abuse
Feedback cannot generally be removed unless its profane, refers to
law enforcement or includes personal details
The UK pages currently lack some details but have found more up to
date policy on the US boards
Negative statements that conflict with a positive rating
Inflammatory language, such as "fraud, liar, cheater, scam artist, con man"
etc., while strongly discouraged, will not be removed.
If a seller leaves a buyer a positive feedback but calls the buyer "fraud, cheater,
scam artist",part of the policy says it will not be removed.
But another part of the same policy says that negative statements that conflict with a
positive rating will be removed
