The Warner Library

2002 – 

Information Librarian in a large medical library.  Responsible for computer-based research and user orientation training.
Voluntary work on a number of projects including consultancy during web site development for The Broads Museum and The North Essex Mental Health Trust.

St. Mary's Catholic School

1995 – 1997

School Librarian responsible for the Library department in a busy, 1000 pupil secondary school. This involved all aspects of running and promoting the school library, including budgetary management and responsibility for one other member of staff.  Qualified first aider.

Followed by a four year break to pursue personal interests.

The Open University

1983 - 1986

Information Assistant for the Educational Counselling and Credit Transfer Information Service (ECCTIS) project.   Main responsibilities were to collate information about all higher education courses available in Great Britain, to set up a database containing this information and to compile a thesaurus giving access to all the course information on the database.

Followed by an eight year break to pursue personal interests.

Bedfordshire Library Service

1982 - 1983

Children's Librarian with responsibilities for services to children at a large town branch library. This involved management of the stock in the children's library, running story times and book clubs and also covering the enquiry desk in the main library.

Assistant at a regional School Library Centre involved in Children's library services, a variety of project based tasks at the centre itself and school libraries.

Essex Library Service

1976 - 1979

Library Assistant at a town branch library and its three satellite branches. Promoted in 1978 to Senior Library Assistant, which involved responsibility for the day to day running of the main branch library and one satellite branch. Qualified first aider.

Followed by a three year break to study at University.
