In addition to the car related spares listed above, we took a bag of clothes, but really tried to minimise this. Hence we had only 5 days worth of shorts and T shirts, which we washed out periodically, two pairs of shoes, a warm sweatshirt each one pair of long trousers and that was about it. Oh - and being that we were driving through the desert we took 2x 3litre Camel Bags for the water, which we suspended behind the seats with drink tubes running thru to the front. Having accessible water is a must! You get very hot and very thirsty.
