BroadBand
BroadBand offers much faster web surfing and also allows you to download music and video content too.
Setting up BroadBand on a Mac is very simple as the Mac was designed with that in mind. But many people find that when they contact their internet service provider ( ISP ), the ISP claims that they don’t support Macs.
What they mean is that they don’t know about Macs and they can’t be bothered to get involved. But virtually all BroadBand services will work very well with Macs and can be set up very easily if you know how.
We can do all of that for you.
There are several types of equipment ( modems ) used to connect computers to BroadBand. Some ISPs give away free hardware to do that, but more often than not, they give away a type that is more trouble than it’s worth. We can let you know whether to accept the free one, or if you’re better off spending £50 or so on an alternative that will be trouble-free.
Inappropriate BroadBand modems are one of the most commonly encountered problems with Macs these days. They create all sorts of problems and the cause can be hard to track down unless you understand about such things and know what to look for.
If your ISP charges £1 per minute for telephone support, but doesn’t actually know the answer, you can spend a great deal of money and still get nowhere.
