Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word is also available for Macs. It’s a very good version and is fully compatible with Word for Windows. Documents can be reliably exchanged between Mac and Windows versions with ease.
Apple also make their own word processor called Pages. It has a good degree of compatibility with Word and is easier to use. For some users, it’s proving to be a popular choice, although Word remains the undisputed market leader and would be most people’s choice.
There are also ‘open source’ word processors. Although they are free, they are in many ways comparable to Word, but the writers offer minimal support to users.
There are some other word processors too, including one that is in many ways even more powerful than Word. There are also specialised word processors for tasks like TV and film script writing.
Microsoft also make versions of Excel and PowerPoint for Macs and Apple also offer an alternative to PowerPoint ( Keynote ) which produces presentations that look much more stylish than PowerPoint ones.
