Directories
- UK Telephone Directories - a mix of Directories and other sources (Electoral Rolls?) which gives telephone numbers and addresses. I found it quite useful, although the online search requires last name and at least an initial. This now appears to be only available on a payment basis - pity.
- Switchboard - US white pages
- 411 - Canada White Pages
- Australian telephone directories by State
- Yellow Pages for
Australia.
- New Zealand Whitepages.
- French telephone directories
- Kapitol International Directories - the biggest selection you will ever find, mainly Fax and Yellow pages, and cover the whole world. Large file!
- Another Index to telephone
directories around the world.
Genealogy "Helpers"

online.

of
ideas and cooperative liaison between genealogists and family
historians who concentrate their research on all references to a
single surname.
-
Family Tree Maker index which has a search facility that may give
you some really useful leads.
- Obituary Daily Times has loads of Obituaries from around the world, and has a
search facility. When using the search wait for completion - the title loads first then the data takes some time.
- Kindred Konnections -
12 million name index search and SSDI. Name search must have surname and given name; loads of cookies.
- GENDEX This server indexes hundreds of World
Wide Web databases containing genealogical data for over two million individuals, and gives you the ability to locate and view data of interest to you on any of these databases, without having to go and visit each of the databases separately.
- The Surname Web - links to sites that hold references to specific surnames. Worth visiting.
- Unwanted Certificates - check to see whether someone has a Birth, Marriage or Death certificate that might interest you (UK only).
-
UK Look-Up Scheme - not online records, but folk who are willing to check out references listed on these pages. Embryonic but looks like it will become a very good secondary resource.
