A dwindling population of about 40 exists, mainly in the South of the country..
Around 400 people with the name Rouvray are known in France. Most are likely to originate from one of the 7 Rouvray villages in the North of the country. It is quite unlikely that a direct link exists with any Rouvrays in England. However the Huguenot Society in London has found a Jacques de Jaucourt, Signeur (Lord) de Rouvray who could be a possible ancestor to the English Rouvrays. No direct link has so far been established.
A lot of Huguenots who fled from persecution in France ended up in the Geneva region of Switzerland. A few of these carry the surname Rouvray. It is unlikely there is any relation to the UK Rouvrays, at least none has so far been established.
Australia has the largest inter-related Rouvray community in the world. Over 150 individuals have so far been included in the Australian Rouvray tree and it continues to flourish. Established in 1854 by James Alexander and his survivng 8 children after his emigration from England.
Given that the Rouvray emigration took place in 1854 this means the year 2004 has been the 150th anniversary of that event.
There exists a photograph of a Rouvray family business in New Zealand. No current Rouvrays have been found there.
A few Rouvrays are known to have lived in South Africa, possibly due to the Boer war. At least one Rouvray was born there in 1902. His descendants now live in Australia.
There is currently no known population for this part of the world.
