The images are a series of paintings about Waverley Abbey, Nr Farnham,Surrey. They deal mainly with the sensation a space and colour.

Waverley Abbey is a former Cisterstian Abbey founded in
the 11 Century by William Giffard. Not a huge amount of the
structure exists today, just the bare bones of the refrectory
and a few trancept walls, but the site still manages to retain an atmosphere of something grander.

"Place" is a phrase some times used to describe an experence of a particular area around us which is made up
of ; structure, topography, geography and also expectation.
When we visit places of historical importance we bring a
certain expectation and that coupled with what is their gives us an experience.

The images of Waverley illude to sensation of place and also the icons which identifi and make it unique.
