BILLY COBHAM One of the many things I admire about him is his ability to play ambidextrous. He plays right hand ride cymbal and he leads with the left on the high hat or on a second ride cymbal set up to the left of the kit, this is one of his many "trademarks". You will hear and see that Simon Phillips adopted this style of open armed playing which I suspect he gleaned from Mr. Cobham. World class drummers will always be an influence to up and coming players and undoubtably will be emulated; players like Simon are however superb musicians in their own right. Not only is Billy fast but he is extremely technical and above all always interesting and different both to listen to and a joy to witness playing live. I have seen him play many times and noticed how is preference for set-ups and kits has constantly been changing. Check out the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy's sheer skill and mastery is quite AMAZING!.

I attended this concert. A surprise, they play “ Pressed Rat And Warthog “, as this song came to an end Ginger cracked a joke that rat and warthog had reopened their shop after all these years and were selling T-shirts, mugs, caps etc outside in the foyer. “ N S U “ was fantastic. On “ Stormy Monday Blues “ Jack swapped from what looked like his old faithful EB3 to his latter day more familiar Warwick bass guitar. Jack is my favourite bass player of all time, understandably still looking ill as he slowly recovers from his liver transplant, was simply astounding. His contribution on “ We’re Going Wrong “ was incredible, his voice was just so strong and powerful, he really sang his heart out on this one and of course his bass playing was exemplary throughout the whole gig. During “ Crossroads “ Eric goes briefly into “ Strange Brew “. N.B. This CDR version is a REMASTER of "The Hottest Band In Their Sixties" Audience Recording: Core Sound Binaural Mics>Solid-State Recorder(16bit, 44.1kHz WAV)>HD>Adobe Audition>WAV>FLAC Frontend>FLAC (Level-5) Caveat: The first part of "I'm So Glad", was heavily under-recorded, (no sound check). Levels have been increased to marry with remainder of the recording. A poor signal-to-noise is evident during this period. A segment of ~4seconds is missing during the false stop whilst the levels were established. Left-hand channel was boosted to balance the binaural stereo image. 06 May 2005 - Royal Albert Hall, London 119 mins CDR 24 Oct 2005 – Madison Square Gardens, New York City 120 mins CDR I attended this concert 25 Oct 2005 – Madison Square Gardens, New York City 120 mins CDR I attended this concert 26 Oct 2005 – Madison Square Gardens, New York City 121 mins CDR I attended this concert
