NOTE: AYLA has sadly passed away - dying of natural causes having had a happy life at the centre. Howlin’ Wolf Mcc  officially adopted  Ayla. She was being cared for by Wolf Watch UK. Their aims are to support wolf conservation through education, welfare and active management through its centre for rescued wolves.

Ayla - our wolf

THE LUPINE LOWDOWN

Ayla arrived at Wolf Watch when only nine days old and was hand reared by Tony and later at about three months, by Wolf and Minski.

Wolf and Minski arrived from Southam zoo in 1993; a grand old boy of 19 years.

Ayla is introduced to people when handled by Tony until just before her annual season, when her general level of aggressiveness increases.

 Ayla’s favourite food is beef.

During the moult, Ayla loses all trace of her dense coat and resembles a greyhound with a rat’s tail.

This wolf is a real family favourite and a marvellous ambassador for her species. She has appeared on a number of wildlife films and television conservation programmes. Her sense of play and mischief has not diminished with time.
