Caterham 21 Gathering 2001

While there were the odd meetings of 21 owners (e.g. at Lotus Seven Club events, cars being serviced and so on) it was not until the summer of 2001 that Paul Jacobs and I decided to try for a proper "gathering" of Caterham 21's - something that we had talked about since my first attempt to set up the 21 register. We ended up deciding to use the Classic and Sportscar Action Day at Castle Coombe as it was fairly central and Paul would be there anyway.

I'll be putting up more details and pictures soon, but if you count the cars in the picture above, you'll see that we had SEVEN cars turn up which is just about 10% of the total production run (and this was without any help from Caterham). The cars (left to right) are:

• Honda Passion Orange 1.8 VHPD (Mo's car)
• Yellow 1.8 VVC (Emily)
• Metallic red 1.6 SuperSport (David's car)
• Metallic green 1.6 SuperSport (Urs' car)
• Metallic green 1.8 VVC (Rob's car)
• Honda Passion Orange 1.6 SuperSport (Jonathan's car)
• Red with 2.0 Vauxhall power (Paul's car)

We had a great day and wonderful weather (if not for taking photos) and we are hoping for even more success next year.
