What education will my sponsored child receive?
Most of the children at Amala arrive without ever having attended school. We employ qualified Indian teachers who receive a salary comparable with similar charity schools. Amala is a registered school and works to the Indian curriculum and terms. The children are taught all the basic subjects (e.g. Tamil, English, maths, physics, chemistry, history and geography) and take the appropriate examinations. Further education is available for the brighter children provided, of course, that they have support and sponsorship. We currently support 45 such pupils.
