Child sponsorship
How long is the sponsorship period?
Because it may be difficult for some people to plan for more than one year ahead, we ask for a commitment for one year only. At the same time, though, wherever possible we ask sponsors to commit themselves until the child reaches the end of their education period, which could be until 14 or 16 years of age. We hope sponsors will want to support the child while s/he acquires skills which will help him or her to lead a fully productive and self supporting life. A long term commitment by sponsors also allows the Amala Trust to plan and implement projects which will be of direct benefit to the child.
