This page is dedicated to the memory
of the men women and children who died Tuesday, September 11,
2001 and to their families and loved ones.
Particularly to the 343
firefighters of the Fire Department of the City of New York
who gave their lives in the hope that others could live.
Battalion 9 based in Manhattan tragically
lost two Battalion Chiefs on Tuesday, 11th September 2001. Battalion
9 was listed as the busiest Fire Chiefs Unit in the World in the
2001 Firehouse Magazine National Run Survey, with a grand total
of 5,335 runs during that year. Battalion 9's Chevrolet Suburban
vehicle is seen here at a 3rd alarm in Manhattan, during 1993
in happier times.
