The ICI plant in Runcorn,
Cheshire operate this unique Volvo FL 12/E-One foam/dry powder
appliance. This vehicle carries 2,000 gallons of alcohol resisting
foam compound, 1,000 pounds of dry chemical powder, and 200 gallons
of water. The Hale pump is capable of delivering 2,500 gallons
per minute. The 'Patriot II' monitor can deliver 2,000 gallons
of water/foam per minute and is capable of 'Hydro-Chem' technology,
which means it is capable of firing shots of powder into the water
or foam stream enabling it to throw powder much greater distances.
The Lindsey Oil Refinery/Conoco
Oil Refinery Joint Fire Service, at Killingholme, near to Grimsby
in the UK, operate this unique demountable Volvo FL10/Angloco
foam tender. It has several pods which are totally self contained
and can be positioned and left operating.
