23th May 2001:- New Player Fisher Signs

Jimmy Fisher a left sided mid-field has signed a one year contract with Alloa. Jimmy previously was at Stenhousemuir.  He has been signed to replace sacked Chris Wood. Jimmy is a dead ball specialist.

8th May 2001:- "Kicky" on his way out?

Chris "Kicky" Wood may have played his last game for Alloa following his red card for head-butting Greenock Morton's Steven Aiken. "Kicky" now faces internal action, with the Alloa board tonight to consider the players future. Terry Christie said "What he did was completely unacceptable and totally out with the spirit of the game".

7th May 2001:- Huxford Freed

Defender Richard Huxford has been freed from his contract.

6th May 2001:- Cairns "I'm no longer an Alloa player"!

Seen leaving the Morton game at half time, Goalkeeper Mark Cairns is reported to have said "I'm no longer an Alloa player".

30th April 2001:- Comings and Goings

After being relegated from the 1st division Terry Christie has some decisions to make. The latest news is that 13 players have been offered new contracts. McQuillan will return to Dundee United. Willie Irvine shall play his last season in football for Alloa next season, as he is set to retire. Colin Stewart from Kilmarnock is a target as Cairns will be released as he has failed to agree terms. Allan McManus and Grant Johnstone are both set to be freed from their contracts.  

9th March 2001:- New Shirt For The Wasps??

Replica shirts are now half price in the club shop. Some sources say Alloa have too many shirts and are trying to get rid of them, other sources say that the club is trying to reward Alloa fans for sticking with them through the hard season. I believe a new top is only around the corner. 

28th March 2001:- Troubled Airdrie,  have bought in 30-year-old forward Lee Gardner  from Alloa. Gardner only joined the First Division side from Clydebank in the summer, but although he has failed to make an impression at Recreation Park Airdrie wanted to get him on Tuesday, but Terry said it would be better if the deal was agreed after the game.

27th March 2001: Allan McManus has signed until the end of the season from Livingstone, he is a defender, and should make his debut tonight.

28th February 2001:- Airdrie Game Off

Alloa's home game against Airdrie on Saturday has been postponed,  KPMG (Airdrie's liquidators) have successfully asked the SFL to postponed games against Alloa and Ross County.

 Experienced full-back John McQuillan, from Dundee United has joined  Alloa, on-loan until the end of the season. He has played for Stranraer, Dundee and St Johnstone.

26th October 2000:- NISH!!!!

Dunfermline Athletic striker Colin Nish is to return for a second spell on loan to Alloa Athletic.

The 19-year-old helped the Wasps win promotion from the Second Division last season and this time will team up with Dunfermline coach Hamish French.

 Alloa full-back Gerry Farrell has cut short his loan move to Forfar Athletic as he is hoping to win a permanent move.

19th October 2000:- Alloa manager Terry Christie has been banned for three months for comments made during a match with Morton when he was sent to the stands.

Christie intends to appeal.
