I qualified in music at a young age starting piano lessons before reading. It can be said that English is a second language and music is my first. I attended a school that encouraged my talent and had an LRAM by the time I was 16

In 1989 I attended a wine tasting and found out that you can actually become qualified in wine. This seemed to be an amazing thing, every glass of wine becomes "revision". What could be more enjoyable ? Within a few years I had a Diploma in Wine. I found that these two activities are some of the best that life can offer.

I also lecture in Wine, write columns and conduct wine tasting evenings for fun or personal development. I teach the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Intermediate Certificate and Advanced Certificate as well as Diploma.
