Hacking and trekking at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
We offer small group rides organised according to ability unless otherwise requested. The emphasis is on quality - fit, well schooled native breeds, comfortable saddles, an informative and pleasant guide, and the outstanding scenery of Rothiemurchus - all combine to give you a memorable ride! We have ponies for all levels of rider. Their height range (up to 15.2hh) and temperament allows us to mount both children and adults providing a riding experience for all the family. Experienced hacks: For the rider (12 and over) confident at rising trot and canter. Exciting, varied rides of approx.1 ½ hours along challenging and outstanding routes. A chance to discover the unique wildlife and scenery of this very special area. Novice treks: Suitable for adults and children of 10 and over. Learn the basics at walk and trot while enjoying a peaceful trek through fields and parkland (approx.1 hour). Beginner trek: Rides designed with beginner adults and children in mind. Some basic tuition is given while enjoying a short trek of around ½ hour in a parkland setting. Riders must be 8 and over for this one. Mini treks: For the 5's and over - a chance to experience the thrill and fun of being on horseback while enjoying a short lead rein ride in fields close to the centre. All rides include hire of recommended standard safety hats and basic tuition if required. Riders are advised to wear sturdy footwear with a heel and suitable clothing.
