The Post Office 300 series
The POST OFFICE 300 series telephone was introduced in 1936, it did not have the good looks of the 232, but it had the advantage of having the bells inside as opposed to being housed separately as in the case of the 232. The most common form of 300 series was the 332, but the one shown above is a 312 which was for use in party (shared) line areas, the 312 was introduced in about 1955.
