Angela Garry and Stephen Pastore are very pleased to announce that we are collaborating on "Helene Hanff: A Life in Books" to be published soon.
Angela has devoted an immense amount of time and energy to the study of Helene's life; and as a published bibliographer, Stephen, spent two years tracking down and cataloging the books.
Our book is both biography and bibliography; besides an extensive look at Helene's life beyond what she has revealed in her own books, we examine every book that she wrote (some 20 titles) in all their varying editions.
Additionally, there will be a bibliographical listing of every book she is known to have purchased from Marks & Co. in that precise edition.
The book will be profusely illustrated. There is a listing of all articles by or about Ms. Hanff and a comprehensive examination of the ephemera: the film, videotapes, audiotapes, photographs, and various miscellaney that grew out of her life as an author.
