Albertano in Spanish translation

The vernacular census details seven manuscripts in Catalan and Castilian as well as a small number of recent editions. A good overview of Albertano’s works in their Spanish transmission is, however, lacking. One text of the Ars loquendi presents us with a curiosity in that the translator preserves many of the original Latin citations and follows them with a Catalan gloss. This translation, preserved in a fourteenth century manuscript (Concheff nº 552), has been the subject of an edition by A[ntonio] de B[ofarull], ‘Opúsculos Catalanes,’ in Memorias de la Academia de Buenas Letras de Barcelona, II, Barcelona, Celestino Verdaguer, 1868, pp. 529-613 (the Ars loquendi translation on pp. 591-613). Bofarull’s edition, being out of copyright, is available here (25k *.zip file).
