POSTERS AND POSTCARDS ON THE HEART, BLOOD AND CIRCULATION

These posters and cards were produced as one part of
an art for health project
in Gateshead in north east England.
The project focused on health promotion about the heart and blood circulation
because this area of the UK has a particularly high incidence of coronary heart disease.
The messages are the result of workshops and discussion of the issues
with school pupils, members of the community, and health professionals.
Large versions of these designs were displayed as billboards on the Tyneside Metro rail network.
The cards and posters are now used by health practitioners all over the UK
and are found to be most effective for initiating discussion on coronary heart disease
and a wide variety of other health issues.

and a wide variety of health and social care agencies,
to identify health needs and to produce artworks and celebrations about health and well-being.

Healthy Messagesis the name under which we sell some of the resulting artworks.
