STOCKTON FOLK CLUB

July - Sept.. 2009
Were you there, or did you miss a good night?

6th July Singaround
7th July First Tuesday: tune night
13th July Pete Castle has been a folk professional for 30 years as a singer and storyteller so he must be doing something right! And what he is doing is upholding the English tradition in songs and ballads performed with sympathy and underwritten by real talent.
20th July Singaround
27th July Kathryn Davidson & DanWalsh are a young, entertaining duo. Dan dazzled us with his banjo playing on a recent visit but also provides classy guitar accompaniments. Kathryn is a fine singer drawing on Northumbrian, Scottish and American traditions. Together they can also venture into jazz and funk territory to make a memorable night.
3rd Aug Singaround
4th Aug First Tuesday: tune night
10th Aug Ian McKone is a newcomer to the Club. Based in Durham, he’s a young singer, guitarist and fiddler performing traditional English and Scottish songs to some excellent reviews.

17th Aug Ray Storr is far from a newcomer! Back by popular request, he always delights us with his vast repertoire of humorous songs and ditties and some very singable, silly choruses.

24th Aug

Singaround (Whitby week)
31st Aug Singaround (Bank Holiday)
1st Sept First Tuesday: tune night Cancelled! Sorry, the room was in use as the main bar during re-decoration.
7th Sept One Stone is a duo comprising Wendy Arrowsmith and Rebekah Findlay, each a talented singer and songwriter. Together they perform a wide range of traditional and self-penned songs with guitar, accordion and fiddle and some lovely vocal harmonies.
14th Sept Singaround
21st Sept Dearman, Gammon & Harrison (Annie, Vic & Steve) are firmly rooted in the English tradition: they bring two distinctive voices, a range of squeezeboxes, banjo and mouthorgan to a great selection of songs and tunes in strong and lively performances.
28th Sept Singaround
