The Sun Inn is just off the High Street next to the Bishop Street car park, which is free after 6 p.m. It is within walking distance of Stockton railway station and the High Street bus stops. Don't ask for directions to Knowles Street, very few people know it by name!

From the A19 and Middlesbrough

Come into Stockton on the A1046 (Portrack Lane), following signs to Stockton Centre. After about 2 miles and three roundabouts you come to traffic lights where the new road system takes you left. Start in the right hand lane, ignore a right turn and at the next traffic lights turn right (signposted Durham & Norton). Almost immediately turn left at the next traffic lights into Church Road (signposted Splash, the swimming baths, and Civic Centre).Take the second left (The Square/ Thistle Green) and at the end turn right into Bishop Street and the car park next to the Sun Inn.

From Darlington and the A66

Ignore the A135 signposted Stockton (west) & Yarm and about half a mile further on take the A135 (confusing eh!), signposted Stockton & Ingleby Barwick, to Stockton. At the roundabout turn right (third exit signposted Durham etc.) onto the A1305. Just over half a mile later there are three sets of traffic lights in quick succession: turn left at the third into Church Rd (signposted Splash and Civic centre). Take the second left (The Square/ Thistle Green) and at the end turn right into Bishop Street and the car park next to the Sun Inn.

From Sedgefield and the North

Come into Stockton on the A177. At the third roundabout, where it crosses the A1027, take the second exit onto Durham Road Bypass. At the next roundabout, turn right (fourth exit) onto Allison St. then immediately left onto Norton Road. This avoids the one-way system above. At the second traffic lights, turn left into Church Road then first right into The Square / Thistle Green. At the end turn right into Bishop St. and the car park.
