    Hello - I'm Anne Barron, a self-taught artist with a particular passion for life drawing and studies of animals, with a dog and two cats of my own to practise on (sadly we lost our Westie of 12 years in January this year and our sole surviving hound is Lady who is a grand old dame of 16!).  I have had a pencil in my hand all of my life and my forte as an artist is in detailed portraits with a life-like quality which has prompted people to say "they look as though they are going to jump out of the painting".   Another interest is in cartoon work and you can see the various different types of work shown on the pages of my web-site by clicking on the appropriate buttons below. 

Although self-taught, I do have an on-going workshop for children each week and am about to start a new Thursday Evening Group in Sheffield for adult beginners, where I know my enthusiasm for drawing and painting should inspire the students to try out a whole variety of mediums.

I am happy to give demonstrations to art groups within a 50 mile radius of Sheffield, and conduct weekly workshops in Sheffield for children aged 5-15.  With fellow artist, Irene Nixon, I run an annual exhibition on wildlife painting to raise funds for animal charities, so for more details please click on Wild About Art below.

These can be in pencil, softcolour pencil (as horse above), pastel, watercolour, acrylic or oils........
