James Brown was born Roxburgh c1781. He had an older brother John; Both went to the Isle of Man, marrying Manx girls dying in 1837 and 1818. Their mother was MARY, but do not have a maiden name. COSTE
Kate was born in London, probably within the City, daughter of a wine merchant. She married James Lambert and in the early
part of the 20th Century, they went to Ontario. James died and she later remarried, but always kept in touch with our family - at least until nearly 1950.

shoemaker then. James 'wife' [relationship not confirmed], was Ann McALISTER [aka McGLAUGHLAN]. Ann, who stated that she was born in Scotland c1810, was convicted in the Assizes of stealing and was transported to Van Dieman's Land [Tasmania] in 1843 on the 'WOODBRIDGE'. Eleanor Millthorpe married John SWAN in 1815 in YKS Tankersley and had a daughter Elizabeth who married Obadiah MILLTHORPE
as his second wife in 1836 in YKS Sheffield St Peter. His first wife was Mary ?????? , married c1824. I know of no
connection between Eleanor and Obadiah. In Census Eleanor always maintained she was of London Spitalfields and age on
census and at death suggests a birthdate c 1798/9. Obadiah died in 1842 so I have no place of birth other than Yes
in 1841 for born in Yorkshire. John Swan died and Eleanor them married Samuel Dimberline, moving to DBY Staveley
sometime before 1841. After Obadiah died, his widow Elizabeth with her young son John Swan Millthorpe who was

I am trying to find Joseph Trott (parents Abraham and Mary) born 1853 Chard, Somerset. He was married to Caroline Castment (1871 Q1 5c pg642) and they had a son Samuel born 29/12/1875. I think Caroline may have died
very shortly after this and Joseph appears in the 1881 & 1891 census in the Royal Marine Barracks, East Stonehouse, Durnford Street (Private RM). After that he disappears! Any help is gratefully received.
