For the last 18 years, Harry Dawes has eked out a miserly living as a musician, composer, photographer and teacher. Having worked extensively with such companies as IOU Theatre and Motionhouse Dance Company, in 1993, he formed his own performance company with Ray Lee called Lee and Dawes. Lee and Dawes have now toured four performances about such issues as radio waves, magnetism and the ether, using live music, stereoscopic projections, Super-8 films, magic and text. The company has received several awards and in 1996 were invited to perform in Moscow at the centenary celebrations of the birth of Lev Theremin, inventor of the Theremin. Harry also plays with the Pandaemonium Band along such luminaries as Steve Noble, Pat Thomas and Alex Ward and operates as a freelance photographer. He works extensively with people with learning difficulties and lectures in theatre studies at Stratford College of Further Education. |
