Starting his career on tuba and upright bass, Victor has worked in a range of musical settings including jazz, thrash, world music and improvisation. He has extensive experience working as a theatre musician.

His work with avant saxophonist Tim Hill explored swampy acid-driven jazz-prov bouncing off stellar musicians such as Pat Thomas and Mark Sanders.

The award-winning jazz-folk group, Scarp developed a fiery complexity driven by Victors bass work and the drumming of Martin Hughes (Gary Moore, Guo Yue,Any Trouble, Robert Wyatt) combined with the singular soprano playing of Paul James and Jo Freya. Victors use of the EBow explored new textures with Patrick Bouffard on hurdy gurdy and Young Traditions Winner Luke Daniels on accordeon. It was in Scarp that Victor first worked with musician/performer Harry Dawes. Their love of free improvisation and the music of Burt Bacharach provided the inspiration for forming Big Hair.

More recently, Victor has played with Paul James and samplist/composer Mark Hawkins in Horse. This harnesses saxes and bagpipes with drum loops, percussion (Kenny Stone), and the keyboard virtuosity of Huw Warren. This setting provides plenty of scope for Victors electronic textures and has played in Italy, France and Belgium as well as a groovy gig at the Big Chill.

Victors latest project is The Difference Engine with one of the UKs leading folk singers, Jo Freya. This duo brings together haunting electronics and traditional song - a CD is due soon - watch this space!
