Sarah Moore is exhibiting work at Plane Trees Surgery in Halifax in February/March 1998.

'The paintings I have chosen for exhibition represents the range of work I have completed in recent years. I take my inspiration from the natural world and the rich variety of landscape and the changing colours within it.

The sea and landscapes on show are often a starting point for the larger works in which I try to convey a sense of mythology and spirit of the place. I try to capture these qualities by combining figurative and abstract elements within the painting and by using a mixture of different media. I layer paint to create a textural surface along with carefully selected images of natural and manmade found objects gathered at the scenes, which are chosen for their intriguing surface qualities, colours and shapes.
