Case respray

Standard office computer white isnt really good enough for me!!

First I removed the face plate off the metal case lid.

Looking at various case modding sites, it seems you are meant to thoroughly sand and use primer of the case before painting.

I didnt bother with this, I just cleaned the case and used conventional metallic silver car spray paint.

First time I did this, it was very streaky and didnt cover very well. I discovered I wasnt holding the can properly, using it level makes it work much better otherwise it only pumps out the propellant gas. It takes less than an hour to dry, although doing this in British weather in November is not ideal.

I havent got a garage, and if I did it probably wouldnt be a good idea, as it would probably take months to get rid of the smell of paint fumes :o).

Ive done 3 coats now and its not perfect, it started to rain at one point, which slightly spoilt it, One more and it looks very smart indeed. I did the face plate using black spray paint from a model shop, that covered very well, after the second coat it looks great.
