Greetings,
At some stage in our lives we learn that to keep
others happy and to avoid rejection, we should ignore
our own needs, be quiet and give away our own
personal power. And the amazing thing is that we
aren't born with this desire - we actually learn it
and work very hard to maintain it.
As soon as we abandon our own truth for another's,
we essentially hand our power to them and violate
our own integrity. When being "good" becomes a way
of life, resentments build, desperation sets in and
neediness increases.
As you reflect on this, remember that change
happens when you are totally honest with yourself.
As you practice putting your own needs first and
standing in your own power, you will notice miracles
unfolding in your communications with those around
you and you will realise that giving up people-pleasing
isn't nearly as scary as you thought. Try it for two
weeks and notice the results.
| The Top 10 Tips To Surviving Change |
 |
|
Follow these 10 steps, based on brain research, to
help you cope with the transitions in your life
smoothly and elegantly.
1. Recognise that things DO change.
Nothing
is forever - neither the good nor the bad. Life moves
on and things change. You will suffer far less
frustrations if you accept that the change is
happening and decide to manage it, rather than
desperately try and cling on to an old situation.
2. Pinpoint the specific change you are going
through. Because any change has a number of
implications in different areas of our lives, we tend to
generalise the change we are going through. Stay
focussed on one aspect of the change by writing
down the most uncomfortable loss you will face as a
result of this change and then why it is
uncomfortable for you.

| Lighten your load |
 |
|
Be firm about what matters and flexible about what
doesn't. Your time, your energy, and the moments of
your life are far too precious to waste. There is
nothing to be gained, and much to be lost, by
fighting and agonizing over trivial matters. In such
cases, even when you win, you lose.
If something truly makes a difference to you and your
world, then put the best of yourself into it. If it
doesn't really matter, then quietly and calmly let it go.
Choose not to let the little, meaningless things get to
you. And you'll free up enormous resources for
successfully dealing with the truly important things.
Imagine how it would be if fully half of your
frustrations were to suddenly disappear. Know that
you can easily and naturally make that happen.
Decide today to let all the silly, trivial matters just
float right on by. With a greatly lightened load, you'll
then move faster ahead than ever before.

The Change Cycle Locator (tm) was designed and
developed to be a quick, easy tool that
can pinpoint anyone's location in the Change Cycle as
it relates to a specific change situation. It can be
used over and over as a way to measure the pogress
of individuals, teams or the entire organisation.
