NEWS IN BRIEF

Yorkshire County Age-Group Championships - 2003

Congratulations to Sally Siddons who won the Girls 13 yrs BAGCAT Award and Sam Taylor who won the Boys 13 yrs BAGCAT Award. Special mention to Katy Venters and Jamie Siddons who finished in the top 3 for their Age Groups.
BoK finished second overall in the teams' championships and second in the George Lester Trophy.

NE Speedo League

The team from BoK did a great job on Sunday 12th January and finished a very creditable third behind City of Leeds and Kingston upon Hull. The support from swimmers and spectators was excellent and made all the difference.

BoK Synchronets

Squad results from the Yorkshire Championships held at Aireborough Pool. Congratulations to Rosie Holdsworth and Emma Winterbottom who gained a bronze medal in the Junior Duet event.

World Class Potential Programme

Sam Taylor has been invited to take part in this programme for 2002/2003. Sam is the second BOK swimmer to be selected since it was introduced.

Yorkshire County and English Schools Swim Teams

Victoria Crossland and Sam Cartwright have both been selected to swim for Yorkshire at the Inter County Competition and Dominic Hegarty, Tom McAvoy and James Chan have been chosen to swim at the ESSA National Finals. Both competitions will be held at Ponds' Forge in October.

Borough of Kirklees Synchronets

The Borough of Kirklees Synchronised Swimming Team had some excellent results at the recent Northumberland and Durham competition.
Figures and Solo 13/14 years Emma Winterbottom - Gold
Duet 13/14 years Emma and Rosie Holdsworth - Gold
Technical Solo 17 and over Cheryl Boothroyd - Bronze
All the above girls with the addition of Emma Deighton have been selected for the County Development Squad.
