Health and Safety Issues Relating to Use of Cement
A detailed mechanism is presented for discussion of how the highly caustic slurry contents of wet cement dissolve keratin to damage skin. Once this protective exoskeleton protein layer is solvated, the hydroxyl groups at high pH continue to damage tissues to cause irreparable damage.
Safety of Medicines
The battle to reclassify enterococcus faecalis as a pathogen continues to this day and not only because it causes inflammation of host tissues but also because it weakens the immune system.

The use of Cement Fiber Composites in Prolonged Wet Environments
Research on the use of cement bonded composites in prolonged wet environments has shown that degradation of the cementing matrix was due to the weathering process. It has been demonstrated that it is possible to retard the weathering effect to at least double the life span of cement bonded materials.
