Retardation of setting of cements was researched and a formulation discovered that will allow the mixing of cellulose fibers with cements to provide composite materials made from cellulose fibers, aggregates and cement. A minimum of 30% by volume of the cellulosic additive can be used to produce these materials. Structural load bearing building blocks, boards and other materials can be manufactured from these composites.
