Financial Services Ombudsman

Individuals, partnerships and small companies can bring complaints about services provided hrough branches or by computer,  telephone,  cash machine or plastic card.  Also includes mortgage complaints if purchased via a bank.

The Ombudsman decides according to "what is fair in all the circumstances" and can make binding awards against banks of up to £100,000.

The Banking Ombudsman is now part of the FSA scheme.  You can get help about complaining and can also register a complaint on the website.
