As you know from the article below, we had to euthanise Brillo but as nearly always happens when we lose a pig we got a call within a few days asking us if we would take on two pigs. After much discussion we decided to add them to our little herd. This meant driving all the way down to Southend On Sea to get them. As you can see from the photo, they are settling in and enjoying the Lincolnshire countryside. Our latest additions, Barney (spotted) and Bruce. They are Kune Kune cross Potbellies.

Nasu

It fills me with great sorrow to have to tell you all that 27th March 2009 I had Brillo euthenised. This last week I have had to help him get up from the sitting position and even carry his rear end while he walked. We decided that this was not what he wanted and his quality of life was diminishing. It was also heart breaking to see him drag himself along by his front legs while his back legs would flop from side to side.

Enough was enough and so this morning we took him to the vets and then off to be cremated. We were unable to obtain anyone locally who would do a necropsy either which is very annoying because we would really like to have known what actually went wrong with him in the first place.

Amy

This is Amy and she joined us a few months ago. She was quite snappy when she first joined us but as time has gone by she has mellowed greatly and enjoys having a belly rub from me. Considering how she was when she first joined us I am very pleased with her progress.

This is Bushka who will always be in our hearts. These pages are dedicated to her memory. She lived with us for over 5 years, appeared in national newspapers, TV and even radio. Her stories have been told in various publications in the UK and many other countries around the world. She was my introduction to owning a potbellied pig and taught me much of what I know. Sadly she had to be put down and a necropsy (post mortum) showed she had a large internal growth. Biopsy report showed leukemia cells.

TV Researchers please note Bushka has been dead for many years !!!
