To use the climbing wall:
You must be a Member.
Passes must be shown on every visit.

One adult can bring a junior on a 1:1 basis but need to have a Single Pitch Supervisors Award or have been on a course at 'Barden Crag' to bring a group of juniors in.

Any Group sessions must be booked through the Community Office and agreed in advance.  Juniors cannot be members unless they have been on a Junior Climbing Wall course.

Details of the wall:
Barden Crag is a 4.88 metres high four walled climbing area with a fitted 300mm crash mat.  There is an Arete absailing platform, slab & overhang wall, Campus Board.

Alterations to the Climbing Wall were done by Entre-Prise.  Extended tower to ceiling.  Back wall : compeletely replaced overhang with new form.

AMENDMENTS TO JUNIOR MEMBERS CLIMBING WALL SESSIONS

In the interests of child safety and in line with recent recommendations regarding duty of care and child protection issues, it is now necessary to have a qualified instructor present during all junior members’ (under 16) climbing sessions. With effect from Saturday 4 November 2000, the new junior sessions (listed below) will commence.

TO GAIN A JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP PASS you will need to put your name on the waiting list (only 10 places per class) in the community office. The details are as follows:

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP PASS gained at one of the Saturday morning courses, you can either climb when a qualified instructor is on duty (£2.00 per session), or one-to-one with an experienced adult, who must be a member (junior climb is then £1.00) to climb during public opening times. The details of junior sessions with a qualified Instructor are as follows:

ALSO RUNNING IS A ‘GIRLS ONLY’ CLUB every Wednesday (term time only). Bev will train you to a basic level of competency, and at a later date, you will be invited to attend a pre-booked Saturday morning assessment, to gain a junior membership pass. The details are as follows:
