Up! jumped an island
Up! through the icebergs
Up!
from the bed of the polar sea
And it spun and it twirled
At the top of the world
Until
it was a dry land
And it settled in the
sunshine
Where it thought it ought to be
Up! jumped the kangaroo
The wallaby and mankind
too
The
emu and the platypus and the koala bear
And
they jumped about and ran about
And walked about together
All protected by the ocean from the dangers known elsewhere
(so
we
say
. . . . )
